How much impact does pagerank have on B2C retail sales?

Higher Pagerank should move a retailer's product pages higher in natural search results on Google, just as it does for informational sites, but more traffic at a retail site doesn't necessarily translate into more sales.
Many posts here discuss the positive impact on advertising revenue from more casual surfing traffic when Pagerank improves, but how important is Pagerank specifically to online retailers?

Most of our pages that convert are number one in the serps, have a PR of 0 or 1
PR really has nothing to do with ranking and it has nothing to really to do with sales.
Look at the pages where customers land, work on those, make them look good and that right there will help in sales.

My question was based on my belief that (at least in Google) pages (or sites) with higher Pagerank were listed higher in natural search results. If Pagerank doesn't play a big role in whose results come first in Google searches, what does? We often have more relevant content pages that appear below competitors with higher PR, so maybe I just made that assumption a while ago. Thanks.

Outside in the real world most of the people I know know nothing of google toolbar page rank...let alone what it signifies...or what some people think it signifies.
