A "wayback" machine to find old rankings?

I'm just wondering if there's any way to find where a particular site ranked on Google for various keywords in the past.

I realize it's probably not possible to find out, but just thought I'd ask anyway.

This has been asked before, and I don't believe that anyone has reported that such a time-machine exists.

Maybe in the future one will be developed and you'll be able to use it now. ;)

If you have access to saved traffic logs you can get a good idea of where keywords rank. Search your logs for the phrase "google.com/search?" Look for the start= tags for ranking past 1st page.
It may not be 100% accurate but it will give you a glimpse of ranking history. I have logs going back 12 years for just this purpose.

Actually, I was wondering if there was a site that showed where sites other than my own ranked in the past. A long shot, I know, but I thought I'd ask.
