Like Homer would say...

So I am working on using a new contact us form.

I link to the new form, and days later when I get around to testing it, that old page with the new link to the form disappears from Gooogle's SERP.

A few more days later it is back. This has now happened twice in 2 months. Coincidence or conspiracy?

(tinfoil, where's the tinfoil?)

Anyone else noticing this? This is driving me crazy!

The old pages are all around 2 TPR.

Seeing it allright.

A couple of things I thought of was that the old page wasn't changed at all for years, and suddenly something new emerges alerting the algo...

or perhaps the link ( and the surrounding text ) gave its relevancy a new spin which Google doesn't know for sure if isn't spam...

or just a damned bug that would kick in when changing anything older than a year.

In our case the page gets dropped, or is shown with a cache from before the change, then is cached with a new date, then gets dropped again or the cache reverts back to an even older date. Has been going on for months.

However the cache it can revert to inches towards the date when the change was already made, meaning both versions will contain the new information, and the link.

Is this your problem as well?
