Just wanted to comment and ask other webmasters - I never used to recieve traffic from Google Image search, but now it constitutes 12% of my search engine traffic. Has anyone else been seeing an increase of traffic from this part of Google's engine?

If this is a development I am liking it.

Google doesn't like one of my sites except for the images. On my google dot com it has dropped one of my pages "green widgets" but it continues to bring me traffic from the pic of the green widget. In fact, it is hit the most. go figure.

I get a lot via images, sadly it seems they are mostly bloggers and forum members looking for pictures to hotlink!

I am also receiving a lot more traffic from Google images. I noticed that if you search "pictures of widgets" for example, there is a link at the top of the page that says "try searching Google images." I'm not sure if that used to be there but it might expain some of the additional traffic.

Yeah... they took all my search traffic and started sending me "Images" traffic.

I just love receiving half as many visitors from Google and using TWICE as much bandwidth. I am very seriously considering blocking images from being indexed... I don't know if the abysmal CTR can even allow me to break even with ONLY bandwidth sucking visits coming from Google.

It makes me sick... no recovery since the Sept 22 massacre.

On my highest traffic site, google images has been the #2 search engine after google for the last 4 months with 6.6% of the traffic. Yahoo is at 6.5%.

G Images really like one of my sites - it encouraged me to add my domain to the bottom corner of each image, which helped branding and also reduced hot-linking.

Block it.
