Are sites with RSS feeds considered blogs by Google?

Is there a point where G decides that a blog is a site, and vice versa

I do not have much experience with blogs. And my sites were always hand-made.

Experimenting with RSS feeds on my sites, I found that after pinging weblogs or google blogsearch, the site would immediately feature in Google's blogsearch, and Technorati, and whatever.

Later, during the normal indexing process, they would appear in the regular Google index too.

How far can this go? Say, a site has RSS feeds for all its content in all its categories. I would get into all the blog search engines, as well as the regular Google index. Now, if everyone has sites with RSS feeds, pretty soon, they would all be indexed in blog search engines as well as Google.

That is unlikely to be allowed, or is not allowed already.

So is there a point at which a site with an RSS feed would disappear from normal Google index and feature only in the Google Blogsearch? Is there a point at which a blog which features in both be considered a site and would feature only in the normal Google index?

Would appreciate any observations and comments.

Thanks,

Matt

I have had an RSS feed for some time without any apparrent detrimental effect.

I suppose there could be deeper issues regarding the feed, mine is explicitly composed giving headline, summary and link to the relevant page. I am not publishing any existing site content through RSS.

RSS feed does not matter. A web page is a web page. Being indexed in Google blog search may mean a short term bump for those searching there for a specific keyword and look for recently updated blogs. If the web page has merit to be included in the main index, it will be, whether or not it was a blog post.

Generally, it is fine I guess. But what if tomorrow Blogs become an altogether different type of search? Will the nice feeling of ranking in both Blogsearch and the main google search remain forever? Everytime I put a potentially high traffic post in the blog, I wonder if that would be better placed in the site. I have learnt from experience that good times don't last forever with Google, and their tweaking and turning can have major consequences in traffic...
