Why can I not get a Page Rank after almost 1 Year?

Hi all,

For some reason I cannot get a page rank for my site after one year, it's real strange. I have plenty of inbound links etc yet google doesn't recognise them or if it does it will for only a little while then they disappear.

Any help or advice would be awesome.

Thanks Guys,

Johnny

This happens when there is some form of violation. PArticipating in a link farm, hidden text, or some other factor google might construe as "blackhat". You may be totally inocent, might be just an html error. Validate the page to be sure.

Also use copyscape and look for duplications.

But I do get referrals from google still & I still get pages indexed in google just no page rank, would that be the issue. the domain is < removed >

<Sorry, no specifics.

You need refferals from elsewhere to get pagerank PR (pagerank) is heavily (if not totally) dependant upon linking, inbound and outbound.

IF you have never made an effort to get backlinks, and nobody links to you naturally, then you won't have any PR.

No inbound links can cause zero PR as well as possible errors construed as blackhat.

BTW don't post URLs here, its against TOS

Page rank is about links.

Do you have any incoming links from quality sites?

That's what it's all about. Not that it matters, you are getting referrals, so I really wouldn't worry too much.

I have spend almost a year on this site full time, there was 2 of us for 3 months full time working on the site. we should have thousands of inbound links but yet google doesn't recognise any of them, yahoo does some buy not many either, is it anything to do with that we're an overseas pharmacy website?

If you are using the link: query to determine external links, Google only shows a sampling of the links that it is aware of.

Yahoo's 'link:' command is more accurate.

If you acheived thousands of links to a site of such a competitive nature within a year, it may be that Google is aware that this is next to impossible, and has discounted the links.

Or, since it is next to impossible, the links may be of questionable quality, which Google can spot easily.

There's always two questions to ask with Google:

1. What am I not doing that I should be?

2. What am I doing that I shouldn't be?

Check the site with both questions in mind, look closely at outgoing links, and when you think about incoming links, think about Quality, not Quantity - Google does. 5000 links bought from unranked pages = er, zero.

Your site would also benefit from changing ALL internal home page links from domain.com/index.php to domain.com/

And set up a 301 permanent redirect from domain.com to www.domain.com

You have ALT="" all over the place; each one (except spacers ), would better be used to describe the image.

Start submitting your site to quality directories.

These are basic items that should have been high on your list from day one, a year ago.

Either you have had some bad advice, or you really need to do some serious reading on basic stuff - start right here :)

PS - you might like to compare your prices with other sites, too ;)

jsteel asks, "anything to do with that we're an overseas pharmacy website?"

Well it could be that.

Maybe as a result you are in fact part of several PPP (p*lls, p*rn, p*ker) link farms in that space and just don't know it.
