I know Matt Cutts has said that google don't approve of you buying text links to improve your google rank, but I'm in the position where I have people wanting to buy them and I don't want to turn down the money. Has Matt or anyone else from G talked about sites that sell links being badly affected too, or is it just the sites doing the buying?
