Google omitting results despite indexing all the pages

Google is omitting results despite indexing all the pages because of the way it indexed the site which didn had any description tag and having unique titles for all the pages.

and It gives the results like this

about 8 out of 50 and the 8 look like this - excluding homepage.

menu, cat 1, cat 2, cat 3, cat 4, sub cat 1, sub cat 2, sub cat 3... if the subcat 3 page is shown in the site: search.

Down below these results, shows

"we have omitted the results which seem similar to the above ones listed"

Now I have made a unique description for each page (50 odd page site) to get rid of that kind of a display and when I checked with Yahoo, Yahoo showed the indication that it re - indexed some of the pages displaying the unique descriptions that I have put up few hours before.

Google still did not re index with the new description that is on par with the page's content. I know it will take time.

Live also shows the description that was written.

The site's page rank is 3 and all page are indexed.

My question to the Pro's here is that if the number of omitted results decrease and the unique descriptions show in the site: search results display, does it have any influence on the ranking and the traffic?

Did anyone else had similar experience.

Thanx,
Ravi.
