I guess which solution is better as <title> tag:

1) Hotel Boston Hotels Boston Accomodations Boston Tourism
2) Hotel Boston - Hotels Boston - Accomodations Boston - Tourism Boston

I think that 1) should be better because I can match Hotel Boston and also Boston Hotels as keyphrases but I'm not so sure...

What do you think about this?

Regards.

How about Boston Hotels, Motels and accomidations instead.

It cuts down on the keyword "Boston" and makes the title tag a bit shorter

Ya, one is better for rankings, but they both are low on the clickability. That said, you can do more with one single additional backlink from the same pr page than you can futzing with title kw minutia. If you get that one link, then a quality/clickable title could easily out perform 1/2 above.

You are saying to obtain more links from "the same pr page"...what does it mean? I'm already trying to get more link as possible.

You also might want to check out google trends to see how keywords in google are searched.

[google.com...]

There is probally a difference in hotel, hotels, motel, motels, accomidation, accomidations etc..

Try different variants of your keywords and choose the ones that are searched the most.

By "clickability" Brett means that neither of the titles would make a potential visitor want to click them.

They are good for SEO but not for marketing. Remember, getting the page to the top of the results is only one part of it. Getting the visitor to actually click on the link is the next part.

Your title needs to have a balance between having your targeted keywords and making the visitor want to click your link instead of one of the other on that page.

What should be your title in this example?

> what should be the title

That depends on what type of biz model is on the site:

- affiliate based? Just sending traffic elsewhere for a sale?
- advertising based? Selling ads?
- lead gen based?
- resource site?
- subscription based?

All that would lead to different titles. For one, you are looking for visitors somewhere in a buy cycle. For others, you are looking for them in research mode.

The main approach is to speak to the type of visitor you want, when they want you.

"Great Deals on Downtown Boston Hotels"
"Boston Hotels Research Wiki"
"Finding your way around downtown boston hotels"
"5 nights at a hotel in downtown boston for the price of 4"
"Star ratings for downtown boston hotels"
"Vacation packages for Downtown Boston Hotels"
"What's it cost to stay at in Downtown Boston Hotel"
"Five star deals at four star price for downtown boston hotels"
"Downtown boston hotels - only blocks for Cheers Bar"

That all said - dude, you are into the travel sector. Titles are trivial. PR trumps all. Chase links dude - chase links.

Also, unique content on your site as well. Do not copy and paste anything from other webpages!

Right on, trinorthlighting! Google reps have been saying this over and over recently. If you want to do well, especially in a crowded market, you've got to provide something unique -- some value that similar sites do not offer.

Here's a good thread on the topic of having unique content, with posts from Google's Adam_Lasnik:
