Although I have read that Google ignores words such as "and, where and how" when I include these in the search for my main keywords, our site goes from #17 to #5.

And when "and, where or how" are included in my search, the results seem to be 100 times better, no spam or job vacancy sites, which usually clog up the results.

Can anyone shed any light on this?

We have a discussion going here [webmasterworld.com...]

This has stumped me for a few months now. But thanks to good feedback, I think I have a way to work with this.
