ajax dangerous for google?

Some sites have ajax features that make use of javascript text hiding. It's not like they are trying to hide text from their visitors and fool SE's at all. It just only comes up when the user does something, like press a button for more information. But aren't these the things google doesn't like to see? Yet it's the new hype around the web.

in my Awstats, there are plenty ajax pages as visited URLs. the programmer said it is because of XML communication with other server.
nothing bad regarding SERPs did we notice
