Currently I host websites in the US but for a UK market.
From reading previous threads it seems that the most sensible thing to do is to host my sites on a UK server for a UK market!

My question is, can moving the sites cause me problems with google, for example

- Can my sites be sandboxed again?
- Can the current ranking in google be affected?
- Anything else I should worry about?

One site ranks no #1 worldwide for a very important keyword which is why I am being very cautious.

Many thanks

Provided they do not fall down between two servers for too long, you'll be fine.

Even if you miss one spidering, it's not the end of the world, you'll recover quickly.

It shouldn't have any significant effect on your .com listings, but it may take a couple or three spiderings before the UK benefits start to show.

Make sure you're paid up to date with the US server before you think about moving ;)

Test the system with the meekest site first, and leave the second meekest til last. Move the key site as soon as you are sure things are moving smoothly.

Thanks Quadrille I appreciate your response.

I'll be making sure that google has stopped spidering the old server before I lay it to rest. I was more concerned in case google placed any restrictions i.e. treating domains as new sites because they had moved. Seemed a very paranoid thought but a friend of mine said he thought he had read something about it somewhere!
