Will German hosting affect UK rankings?

I am currently high in the UK localised rankings (currently hosted in the UK and i have a .co.uk suffix ) but i am highly considering moving my hosting to Germany....

Will this affect my uk localised rankings with having my website hosted in Germany?

A couple of people have told me that it will affect my UK rankings, and a couple have said the opposite.

If it will make a difference to my rankings would it be a big one?
(for example if im #1 on a keyword now would you expect a big drop?)
