Google Search Engine - Keywords

Question regarding Afew months old site that I recently submitted a sitemap

I recently (2 days ago) submitted a sitemap for one of my websites and have noticed through my traffic stats that I am receiving traffic through certain words. However, when I do a google or yahoo search on these words my website does not show up on web/image/video!

A few months ago I remember doing a google search on a specific word several times (about every 1 hour lets say) and my website would appear in different spots and a few times it would shift from page 1 to page 2.

I was wondering if anyone has an explanation for this?

Different Google datacenters can hold different information - it's the reality today.
