Sorry if this has been asked before.

What about this idea?

a) Do modify the user-agent string of your browser to add the URL of your site.
b) Go and visit many sites
c) The log files of some servers will be picked up by google
d) This log files do show up in serps.
e) some of them will show the URL to your site.

Will this give accountable external links to your site?

How about this idea?

a) create a site with worthwhile content
b) join some online communities related to the site topic
c) some of those in the community will like your site and link to you because of good content
d) you rank better in google and get more links as more poeple find your good content
e) you don't get a reputation as a spammer and a scammer

This method is Guaranteed to give you better links than your method

Sometimes I just have ideas and want to be check before I do something bad or unethical.

So it looks like this idea was not the best one.
