Sub domain VS. regular domain names

sub domains in google, will they index just as fast as normal domains?

Hi everyone I have a question that has been bothering me for a while.
I recently have started a content site (about this time last month to be exact) and instead of putting it at www.my-hypothetical-domain.com the content site is hosted at: mysubdomain.my-hypothetical-domain.com.
A friend of mine has a similar content site, but he isn't using a sub domain. On that note, google has yet to index my site into their system a month later when I have roughly over 200+ pages of content now. (not a bad start)

So my question is this: Would I have been indexed sooner with a regular domain, or am I fine and should exercise patients on the subdomain I currently am running.

thanks a million

Considering that "www.example.com" is a subdomain of "example.com," and that millions of sites are indexed by their "www" subdomain, I'd be looking elsewhere for your indexing/ranking problem. You cited the number of pages you have on your site, but ask yourself these questions:

How many incoming links do you have from other authoritative and/or relevant Web sites?

Do those inbound links use good topical descriptive link text, or just your company name or domain name?

Do your page titles and page meta-descriptions use your most important keywords and accurately reflect the content of each page?

That's a basic start... Lots more here in the various forums. :)

Awesome, I appreciate the feedback jim, and it's reassuring to hear that my sub domain issue is virtually null. A friend had told me that it was the sole problem so I was stressing.

So lets say the domain is fine, the content doesn't seem to be an issue. (yes it is a decent set of paragraphs and images)

Relative incoming links are a huge factor in this I think. I only have a handful of sites that are generating traffic for me. Further more those are basically the only sites that have me linked.

Looks like I have my homework cut out for me then.

Thanks a bunch.
