Ok guys. So this is it. I wouldn't be asking this normally but its christmas and I hoping that I could possibly get some guru to say "oh duh you didn't do this" and me say thats easy to fix. But heres the story. I'm a web designer and photographer, and I bought a dynamic site to sell my <product> photography. I've spent 2 months on trying, calling, reading, researching, buying books, calling seo companies, making tradeouts for info, trying to get into dmoz and listing with any alternatives liek dmoz. The trick is yet to be found. I'm up in msn and yahoo for "<product> pictures" but I can't figure out how to go about google. Yes, I've submitted, verified and submitted a sitemap. I'm willing to be patient, but I'd like to have some idea if my patience will pay off or will the trial and error just be forever. The site is <edited> and I hope for my christmas present that some guru and give me hope. thanks yall
shane

Welcome to the forums, westobou.

Two months is not very long, in Google time at least, and there's plenty of hope. You're correct to look at links as one big key -- but you should look far beyond DMOZ for links. First, I'd suggest our Link Development Forum [webmasterworld.com], especially the forum library [webmasterworld.com].

For information more specific to appearing in the Google search results, try this thread:
