site: vs true country search from the google search interface

Querying terms for country search vs site: domain restricted search.

I've spent a while reading through a bunch of related posts on this - but can't seem to find an answer to this question:

Is it possible to replicate the "pages from <country>" as shown on local google mirrors (ie google.com.au) from the search interface.

Site:au is just domain based restriction, and I'd like in my SEO tool that I'm using to be able to specify a search term which replicates google's country search (ie returns .com, and other sites it determines to be local by IP etc) in order for a better / more accurate representation of my local Australian results than just site:au...ie what my client would expect Australian searches to see in their search results when using this "pages from..." option.

Apols if this has been covered elsewhere?
