Ok, I know the site command has been strange and unreliable in recent months, but this is weirder than usual. site:www.mysite.com shows 968 pages (which is about right) all supplemental, the first entry is not the home page but one of my urls with a strange user session variable appended to it, and every snippet displays THREE copies of the meta description tag (probably why they're all supplemental) I checked the source code, and there's no way it should be displaying meta description three times (plus I've never seen snippets this long in Google anyway - we're talking roughly an inch and a half for each one. And the site is still coming up first for all my choice keywords, but traffic has really died out. So far I'm only seeing this on one site. Hope it's just a temporary glitch.

Google has been showing double and triple snippets for some entries for nearly a month now.

The longest I have seen is the two-line snippet repeated seventeen times...

They have truly screwed up (yet again).

Yea, after doing a lot of digging, I think I have a combination of a duplicate content issue (hopefully fixed now) with this weird Google snippet bug - it sure gave me a start.

The odd thing (to me) is that if all my pages have really gone supplemental, how come they're still coming up #1 for their search terms?

I to am seeing this as well for the 3 meta lines. Other times it will show the acutal content. The kicker is, the pages are long gone changed, showing cached versions from april, and I have a completely new layout. All the supps show the old design, everything else is updated to new layout.

This is discussed in the following thread (it's available in the Google Hot Topics [webmasterworld.com] post.)
Supplemental Results - what exactly are they? [webmasterworld.com]

it is not a "page" that is marked Supplemental, because there is no technical definition for the word "page". It is a url that is given Supplemental status -- and even more precisely, it is a particular cache DATE for that url. A different cache date of the same url may still appear in the regular search results.
