Why don't I rank anymore?

About 6 months ago it was almost embarassing how many images I was getting on the first page of Google Images for loads of terms. However, there was plenty of reason for this, I'm a half decent photographer and a half decent webmaster.
Now the story is a little different. I find my images on other sites before mine! I sometimes find the odd thumbnail, but most of the several thousand photos in various parts of various sites are nowhere to be found.

Perversely if I use the normal Goolgle search and stick in blah... photos I'm all over the SERPs.

I don't use any anti-hotlinking, some of my pages are static - the only thing I do is use a javascript location = top in certain parts of the site (but not the whole site(s)). This has affected 3 of my sites

Anybody got any suggestions?

We've had a few threads about recent changes at Image Search -- nothing too definite so far. One of the longer threads is here:

try to search with the filter off, they have changed how they filter images, many images are bloged with no reason.

ohh now i have post over 2000 times, damn am im getting old here :)

Have the same problem, I must retry the searches with safe search off. I was caught like that when I first set up the site in question as it is locality related and contains the letters "s" and "e" and "x" in the place name.
