i have a .com website which i run from the UK which is no longer showing up when i select the 'pages from the UK' button on google.co.uk.

when this botton is de-selected the site comes up at #4 for keyword1 but when selected its nowhere and the site does not even show up if i type in the full url.

competitors .com sites still show up so not sure whats up

would putting some UK references in the page title or content help?

thanks

A .com is not a page from the UK.

Adding UK content may well make a difference, but also check where the site is hosted - a .com hosted outside the UK does not qualify at all - and many 'UK Hosts' actually host elsewhere, due to the very high wholesale prices of UK hosting compared to say, er, anywhere.

If your target audience is UK, best to get the .co.uk, and 301 the .com to that domain.

I run a UK based .com and strugled a bit at first. I had the hosting company move me to a UK ip address (it is US hosted despite using a UK hosting company) and this has helped a lot. We still rank better for normal search, but UK only SERPS are gradually catching up. Apparently helps if your inbound links are mostly from UK sites too.
