Would changing the title from "U.K" to "UK" affect ranking?

Hi, i am new here. I have a website and in the title on the index page i use ( website U.K )

I have now changed the title to ( website UK )
Also, everything in my website relating to the United Kingdom has been changed to UK instead of U.K

1. Would this effect my pagerank for a keyword.

2. Would this effect the links coming from other sites, as they use U.K in the anchor text.

3. would i have to ask the people linking to change the links to UK

Thanks in advance.

Robert

Welcome to the forums. I would use UK in preference to U.K mostly because it's neater. I doubt if it makes much difference in Google, and it won't affect your PageRank in the least - that is PageRank as in Google PR, not the ranking position of a page in the results. Although, as I say, it shouldn't affect either.

I suppose it might be worth asking people who link to you to alter U.K to UK, but again, mainly for the sake of neatness.

This is based on casual observation rather than measured study. Others here may have a more accurate explanation of the exact effect of a dot in a term or string.
