There was an earlier post about this. Unfortunately now closed, and there didn't seem to be any conclusive answer.

If I search Google directory for keywords specific to my site, Google lists the site as #1 and specifies the category page in which it is listed. Yet if I go to that page the site is not listed. DMOZ shows the site in the category page and has done so since August.

Can someone explain how this can happen? Does the Google directory search actually search DMOZ, and then display Google's own copy? Or what?

It just hasn't been updated in awhile.

- Google directory search results
- The Category structure itself
- The list of sites in a category

These are three things that are independantly updated, and often parts are out of sync.
