Strange "link:www.domain.com" results

Own domain showing up - why?

When I search link:www.domain.com most of the results are from the within site www.domain.com.

Why is this happening and how do I stop it from happening if it is a bad thing?

Not a bad thing - self links do get reported sometimes. See this thread for a lot more information:
