According to Comscore's new press release:
Lion’s Share of Visitors to Top 5 U.S. Web Properties – Yahoo!, Time Warner, Microsoft, Google and eBay – Come from Outside the U.S.

[comscore.com...]

Share of unique visitors to Google from outside the U.S. equals to 83.17%, 82.62% to Microsoft sites, 80.59% to Yahoo sites, 77.17% to eBay, 67.08% to Time Warner Network, ...and so on.

Interesting that ComScore, "a global leader in measuring the digital age", has some trouble with basic arithmetic, by even downgrading the percentages of international visitors in their table.

However the main point here comes from Bob Ivins, managing director of comScore Europe:

The high proportion of visitors and page views from outside the U.S. represents a solid growth opportunity for U.S.-based ad-supported properties, which currently derive most of their revenues from domestic online advertising.

I would also add that a lot of international advertisers/publishers targeting US market should think in this way too.
