Will add content hurt my rank?

My site ranks very high in a very competitive sector for some years now.
there are many incoming links from high relevant/quality sites. but my domain do not have much text or information. there are only a few pages within.

to improve the quality (and perhaps the ranking?) i want to add some pages (3 or 4) with some quality informations. i hope this will help the users and help me to rank a little better.

what do you think? could this hurt my actual ranking of the main page?

You seem to be doing this for the right reason (to provide information to the users), I am sure that adding new page should not hurt the ranking of your existing pages. Just make sure that the content is unique and you are not repeating your existing content there.
