Horrible business partner sites - are they hurting me?

My company develops accounting software. we have about 50 business partners and a handfull of direct re-sellers.

i recently came across a website of one of our business partners/resellers, and it is pure CRAP!....bad links, page not found errors....frames that dont function properly, missing images, duplicate content from our corporate site.....and the list goes on.

is this hurting our corporate site in googles eyes?

I would be most concerned about the duplicate content.

If your partners are supposed to write their own copy rather than lift yours then I would politely ask them to take off the offending text. I guess they must sell your stuff offline if their site is that bad and they are a reseller, don't go too heavy on them (they may just be clueless rather than malicious).

As for the rest of the issues, there isn't that much you can do. The harsh reality is that you should have done a better job of vetting resellers, you took them on without knowing what their online presence was (never mind what it contained).

I would be more concerned about the human perception of your product...with what you describe...
...after all...humans are purchasing and using the software (well at least some are)...the bots don't buy a thing from you...

Dup content...certainly you want to get better control over this type of activity..(from your resellers simply copy and pasting your content)...

thanks....i will try to be "nice" when i say clean up your crap, and get on the ball.....OR ELSE!

and you are right....the end users are the ones who have to suffer looking at this sight...and yes, i dont want that to be the perception they have of our company....

thanks all...
