Are rankings affected by Third Party Merchants Buttons

Put them on the home page blasted from Google

I have a serious problem, I changed from a affiliate site that gave me ePCM and some revune on goods sold directly into the Adsense. Ok this worked wonders and my CTR for adsense went up but my sales for my products went really south....!

So I decided not to redirect to the buy now page for my product but placed the Link to PayPal and 2 Checkout on my home page. Then it happened Blasted I was from the serps. I dropped from #10 out of 2 Million returns to I dont know where I am today.

So has anyone ever experienced this, I have removed the links but I am just wondering if google will correct this quickly. The change happened in less than 24 hours, (changed and included buy now buttons to and changed back to NO buttons). So can anyone assist. I have a new site coming out and would love to know if this might also affect me in the SERPS as I have paypal and 2CO buttons on this site.
