Affiliate link ranking

An affiliate link is ranking higher than our site on Google

Hi all,

I hope you can help me with a strange little problem...

We have a site that sells widgets. We've been working on search engine optimisation for a few months but have found that an affiliate link we have set-up with another company is rating much higher than ours.

This means that someone searching for our site will instead be clicking on an affiliate's link, thereby giving them commission they don't necessarily deserve.

Is there any way to stop this from happening?
