I recently started using google alerts to monitor sites with my site theme keywords. This is a cool feature which alerts me to about 30-50 new sites / articles a week

For the past couple of days I'm getting about 30-50 alerts a day! The vast majority of which are blog spam sites and the like.

It's difficult to seperate the wheat from the chaff. I have to turn the alerts off for a while.

Will this pass? Does this often happen shortly after a google update?

Haha... not likely.

Try adding some negative keywords that are likely found in the 'chaffy' posts.

add negative keywords...

That's not really possible.

Is there a way to filter out any result with 'blog' in the url?
