why would supplemental results be above home page

Well, you need to find out why you have the supplementals, for a start!

Does your home page change a lot? I mean the proportion of the page?

Best to keep a steady page, with a section that can change periodically, but it's still 'the same page' for the SEs

Do your deeper pages attract links of their own?

Is your homepage domain.com - or something weird - domain.com/index.phpfollowedby5000charaters? Make it domain.com.

Is the site listed in quality directories by the domain, or not at all, or a strange page?
