So I started a reseller hosting website (shared) about 4 years ago. Mostly just to host my 5 websites to save on hosting costs. Overtime I have built up a client list of about 50 paying customers.
Recently I lost some really good rankings for my websites on Google and it affected ALL my personal sites and including my hosting domain. Certainly no spammy issues here. Not only did I lose my most popular keywords for ALL the websites, the homepage (index)doesnt display at the top of the results for a domain search like: "domain.com" which they all did before. The homepage is there, however, it's located at the bottom or so.
Been thinking about this for sometime and thinking to myself how could this happen to all of them. I don't cross link and one is even a non profit site for a small community? Something is wrong here...
A few moments ago I ran through all my 50 clients and their sites are experiencing the same issues. I go to Google, type in "theirdomain.com" - and 98% don't come up either!
Anyone seen anything like this before? Keep this in mind this is a shared hosting server with several resellers on it using the same IP but different nameserver names.
Have you heard of a penalty which affects all the websites associated with a certain nameserver?
Hope that makes sense and would love to get your feedback. thanks.
