Removal tool - not working as described?

Hi
Anybody getting G's URL removal tool to work?
For a couple of sites i had to remove some dead URL's and used the removal tool. Always worked well. 5/6 days as advertised.

Now i get G emailing me saying the URL's have been removed and they seem to disappear for a day then back they come for good!

Any ideas?

The tool is window dressing. It only removes urls from the visible index, so in some aspects it is actually worse to use, as those urls can be used to help diagnose issues in your site.

From what I can remember, it does not remove Supplemental Results at all.

Mind you, I haven't touched the removal tool this year, after finding out last year that it does not actually do what you assume that it would do.

You need to wait a few days after they send you the email. The site: command will still show them but there will be less URLs each day.
