How long before Geolocation is updated after server move?

Hi.

We recently moved a .net domain from a US based server to UK based server in a hope we would start appearing in "pages from the UK" on google.co.uk. We did this about a month ago, but we still are not appearing in "pages from the UK". Does anyone know how long this will take to update?

Kind regards,

Andrew.

I did the same thing about 2 years ago and the process was quite quick - pages started to appear in the "within the UK" search after about a week and the process was completed after about 2 weeks.

However, currently my home page is not appearing in the "within the UK" search. This is a different matter and has been discussed in a separate thread here: [webmasterworld.com ]. Perhaps a similar bug is preventing your entire site appearing within the UK?

Are you sure your new servers are based in the UK? Some companies purport to offer UK web hosting but if you dig a little deeper their servers are located elsewhere.

.net domains appear to have a hard time in .co.uk, try getting a .co.uk domain name

Hi Andrew,

I moved my .com from US to UK Hosting on 6th September. On the 8th September Google UK began to display the same results as Google.com when searching for 'Pages from the UK'.

What is the date of the last Cache for your site?

da64, I wouldn't be too concerned about the time yet as it once took G 5 weeks with one of mine, but did you check your UK server IPs are seen as UK based?

hi Guys

Do you find server IP location to be more important than local tld factors with google.co.uk?
