Some sites that rank well, and have always ranked well, have pages way over 100kb, some of them with images in excess of 100kb alone. Somewhere in the past I read that 101kb was a desired maximum and i think i read that the ideal target was around 40kb.
What's the perfect page size and what are the suggested or proven limits to the various components [ ie text size , link size , image size etc ] and why is it important?
