Data centre affected - 66.102.9.104 - may well be on others? Anyways, today's my day for checking a few standard search terms that I monitor BUT today what has surprised me when looking through the first 50 or so results returned is the apparently large proportion (20% to 50% in some cases) of search results that simply show the URL and "Similar pages" underneath with no pages descriptions / cahe pages / related links / etc. This phenomenon was affecting sites that have been around for years.

The worst example I have seen today is 26 of the first 50 returned results displaying this way. Have they fixed the site: command but broken the search?!

The results now on so many competitive terms are displaying relatively relevant websites but they have no tutles or descriptions but just the URL. It looks atrocious and renders the results pages fairly useless.

Anyone else noticed this?

I always assume that results like this are temporary -- I've seen it before when G seems to be moving large amounts of data around on their back end, but the situation always shifts back pretty quickly.

I haven't seen such results recently -- and I do a lot of searches every day.

The only large-scale URL-only listings that I can see, are for URLs recently disallowed in robots.txt, URLs that I hope they are going to be dropping soon.

For one site, they have already dropped more than half a million URLs out of the index, and there are just a few thousand left to do.
