Forum Moderators: Robert Charlton & goodroi
The site is 6+ years old and formerly ranked on the first page for my targeted search terms, usually #1. Now I can't get better than #31.
I was probably nailed for spam although I have done absolutely nothing different than my competitors who I thorougly analyzed. They just haven't gotten caught yet and I don't want to report them--just outrank them. To my knowledge I never spammed G but it is their opinion that counts not mine.
The most likely scenario is that a competitor turned me in. In that case, the penalty is manual. I have worked non stop the past 10 months, have revised content, and cleaned up anything at all that could be questioned. I have filed reinclusion requests and been very patient. However, the only improvement I have seen is that what volatility there was (ranking from #31-51) has now been replaced with consistency at #31.
My questions: If the penalty was indeed manual, will it have to be taken off manually? If so, how can I get G to do this?
If the penalty is automatic, how soon can I expect its removal.
I really need guidance from the heavy hitters in this forum or those who have gotten out of Google's dog house.
Thanks!
