Interstitial Ads - Penalties/Problems Crawling, etc?

I'm just wondering if anybody has any experience with interstitial ads and their affect on Google. We've been approached several times by reputable advertisers to place interstitials on our site, but are wary of how they might affect GoogleBot and rankings in general. The numbers look pretty good (in our case) but not good enough to justify dropping or losing SE traffic. Any thoughts/opinions/suggestions? Thanks!

Apparently the interstitial ads only show up for an IP address 1 time a day and only after they've browsed a few pages. So I suppose, if there were any pages that were to not get crawled because of the ads, it would be only a very few. Am I understanding that correctly?

For what its worth, as a user I loathe Interstitials. I never go back to a site with those on unless I really have to and there's no better alternative.

If it's Javascript-based, then there should be no problem (except for your unfortunate users).

I hate interstitial ads as well. Believe me. But it's not really my decision and unless I can say without question "if you use these you will lose SE traffic" I don't think my objections will amount to much. Thanks for the feedback.
