Hello,

I saw a website which have a PR of 7. indexed pages aroung 451 but backlinks in google is 0 and it's obviously coming on it's top most targetted keywords which are broad.

How this can be possible that without a single backlink shown in google, this site has a 7 PR. As I heard and know PR is mostly related with the backlinks of a site.

Can anyone please answer?

Regards,

You do not know that there are no backlinks; Google searches rarely reveal such things. And that's deliberate.

It is rarely useful to obsess about other people's sites; do check out the competition, to see what you can learn, but put most of your effort into developing your own site. That's the way to success.

Just wanna remind you my written lines:

How this can be possible that without a single backlink shown in google, this site has a 7 PR. As I heard and know PR is mostly related with the backlinks of a site.

I am just doing R&D. It will be great if someone can actually provide useful information.

Try looking at backlinks in other search engines. Google does not show all backlinks.

Quadrille gave you solid information. Google uses MANY more links to perform their ranking calculations than what they will show you in ht elinkL operator results. Granted that it's unusual to see no backlinks for a PR7 page, but don't take Google's work for granted. Research backlinks on Yahoo! Site Explorer [siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com].

You can be pretty sure that most of the time if Yahoo found a link, so did Google. And if Yahoo found an important (high PR) link, then it's even more likely that Google is folding that link into their calculations. It's just that Google won't share most of the information. They are trying to protect their algorithm from reverse engineering, nd their algo is very sensitive to links.
