I run a site for an online travel service. As well as our main site, we have a number of individually designed sub sites, dedicated to specific hotels, which are in their own directories on the same domain. We recently re-designed one of these sites and after a few weeks online, it's dropped from 3-4 when searching Google on the hotel's name and now no longer even appears in the top 100!

We're really confused as to what's happening here, the text is the same, title, description etc. all the same, as are the filenames (PR remains at 4). The only difference I can see is that we're now using a CSS layout instead of tables, but I would've thought this would be beneficial if anything?

ANY ideas as to the cause would be very much appreciated!

I don't think that the move to CSS is the problem. I have done this with several sites in the past and the net results have all been positive. There have been changes at Google over the last month that have caused lots of established sites to bomb. It's more likely that this is what has happened to yours.
