Firstly thank you for reading. :)

One of my client's competitors is #1 in Google on all databases for a particular key phrase. There is one useful website that has lots of Google databases to check performance which also has a neat 'allin:' section...

When I check the allinanchor:key phrase the competitor is showing #1 but does not have the key phrase in any form in words words

So am I misunderstanding what allinanchor means?

Thank you

Wendy

I believe it means how other sites are linking to you, not what is on your site.

So if you have backlinks like: <a href="www.yoursite.com>Big Blue Widgets, the Big Blue Widgets is the 'anchor' text.
