Google has recently indexed almost all of my ecommerce site's pages (approx. 3500). However, they are only recognizing 1 of approximately 40 back links to my site. What is the trick to getting Google to recognize sites that link back to your site and articles published on high PR article sites?

Thank you in advancve for any help provided.

Google never shows more than just a sample of the backlinks it knows about, but good backlinks will help you in the algorithms whether they show in the link: command or not.

Check your backlinks in Yahoo, and it's a safe bet that whatever Yahoo has found, Google will find as well.

The problem with link checking is you don't know how the search engine treats that link, it just shows you if it "sees" it.

It can show you improvements in # of links over time, or comparisons between sites.
