We have eBay's toolbar installed for 1 year and half with no issues before. One of the little known security features is that it tries to prevent you from going onto spoofed eBay sites that you see in all these bogus phishing scam emails we get evryday. It works pretty good too.
Last week we noticed that eBay's toolbar started to interfere with Google search when you try to check the cache of a site. So what happens is, we run a search on Goolge, then we try to click on one of the cache links for one of the search results to see when Google crawled that page, and suddenly we now get this error that pops up from eBay's Toolbar:
"You have been redirected to this page by eBay Toolbar with Account Guard.
The page you are attempting to visit is not an eBay or PayPal page. It may be on a fraudulent (spoof) site. You may still visit this site. However, if the site claims to be eBay or PayPal and requests your account information, do not provide it."
So it won't let us see Google's cache for a web site.
So as of a week ago or so, we can no longer view Google Caches if eBay toolbar is installed. We even went through all the normal things like clearing the disk cache, yada.... but nnothing helps.
Could Google's IP addresses used for the cache be on eBay's hitlist for spoofing? Makes no sense.
Anyone got any ideas?
