Strange HEAD request by Googlebot

Recently i redirected non-www urls to www and set preferred domain in sitemap to www. After that i am getting 2-3 head requests everyday for /. But today my sites are getting 20-30 head requests like this

I dont know why it is coming like this. is there anything wrong with my sites?

HEAD requests are often used for checking for broken links.

I'm getting the same thing, both for non-www and .com versions / other domains stupidly pointed at the same webspace and now redirected.

They're getting status codes of 200 for the www.domain.co.uk version (correct) and 301 for all the redirected pages (correct, too, I hope).

Hopefully, for both our sites, this is the beginning of a clearup of duplicates?
