redirected dynamic site - Google duplicates?

I have redirected all pages on a dynamic site to the home page of a new site. ie www.oldsite.com/foo?bar=1 is redirected to www.newsite.com/

However, the browser is showing the new page as www.newsite.com/?bar=1 - although it is correctly displaying the home page of the new site.

But I am now concerned about duplicates. Does Google treat www.newsite.com/ and www.newsite.com/?bar=1 as duplicates?
