Question, if one has a well established site. A good mix of SEO and SEM and buys a stat's package like Clicktracks. They then start to add a parameter to their urls to give Clicktracks better data. Will this negatively effect SERP's? Will the extra parameter on some paths to categories and products be seen as another url to duplicate data by Google?

It's very possible. I think we got hit with some duplicate content because of querystrings.

If they go to the same page, yep that will look like dup content to Google.

One idea is to use a NOINDEX META tag on the URLs that have tracking parameters.

If you can use /pagename.html#parameter then you can save yourself some effort here.

Not all scripting languages can deal with that; but you can use it if you are using PHP.
