help me index my site with google

I have submitted a sitemap.txt file of my site to goolgle , but still my site is not being indexed...
What more can i do from my side.

How old is the site?

Did you submit it to DMOZ?

Well its been more than one month since i submitted the sitemap
I wanted to know more about meta tags , should i include them in my webpage...
if someone could provide me with its syntax....

Although not strictly required, the meta description tag (with unique and page-specific content) can be a big help. You may find this thread informative:
