I recently came across a site that was listed number 1 in Google's local results. There was no spiderable content (even phone number or address) anywhere on the site. Under the listing in green it said "Provided by the business owner". How does one provide this to Google?

BTW, it was not a sponsored result.

Possibly via:
[google.com...]

Thanks
Is that something I can use for all my clients' listings or do they need to get their own Google account? I know it says to use a separate listing for each location, but it doesn't mention different businesses or if my signing up another business will somehow link that biz with me.

No idea I'm afraid. I've been dabbling with Google Maps recently and your question reminded me that I remembered seeing this link (it's on [maps.google.com...] as "Business Owners: Add/Edit Your Business"),
more I know not.

i just added someone else's business, and then one of mine, with no problems. Howver, I couldn't verify the other business because they would have received a phone call now (3 am their time). When I clicked the final continue button for my business, the phone rang less than 3 seconds later, and the verification page updated as soon as punched in my pin. Pretty slick.
