I have just put a new site online, and find that Google has listed it as www.newsite.com as well as the correct www.new-site.co.uk, (note the hyphen) which is what I submitted.
The description in the serps for both listings belong to my site. Click on the .com listing and it takes you to a 404 Not Found page.
Does anyone know how I get rid of the wrong listing?

Try to write to Google support about this. You can't redirect to www.new-site.co.uk from www.newsite.com because www.newsite.com is not yours.
