Writing a site in another language.

Are there duplicate content issues?

I have been wondering Google's take on a website's content being offered in other languages. Since Google has translation software available to them, would they see this as dup content?

No. Google indexes character strings, and not "meanings". If you use any of the online translation tools (not just Googe's) you'll quickly see that detecting dupicate content this way would be an extremely futile endeavor.

Ok, thank you tedster. I thought it would be, but I wanted to make sure before I proceeded.
